City of Brownsville Welcomes Returning and Newly Elected Leadership

On Tuesday, July 14, the City of Brownsville marked a significant occasion as elected officials were sworn in to serve the community during a special ceremony.

Mayor Bill Rawls officially took the oath of office, beginning his fourth term as Mayor of Brownsville. Mayor Rawls expressed his appreciation for the continued trust and support of Brownsville residents and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the city with dedication and integrity.

During the meeting, Ward 3 Alderman Brad Bishop was appointed to serve as Vice-Mayor, a role in which he will continue supporting the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in guiding the city's future.

Also sworn in were:

• Hope McGhee, Alderman for Ward 2
• Randy Holloway, Alderman for Ward 1
• Karen Jones, Alderman for Ward 4

The ceremony also included a special recognition honoring two outgoing members of the Board of Aldermen for their dedicated service to the City of Brownsville. Ward 4 Alderman Travis Pugh and Vice-Mayor/Ward 2 Alderman Carolyn Flagg were each presented with a commemorative plaque in appreciation of their years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to the City of Brownsville. Their contributions have made a lasting impact on the community, and the City extends its sincere gratitude and best wishes for the future.
