Memorial Wreath Lighting Rescheduled for December 19

Last Updated 12/11/2025

We’re excited to announce that our Memorial Wreath Lighting Ceremony has been officially rescheduled for Friday, December 19 at 4:30 PM on the Courthouse Lawn in Downtown Brownsville. While the original November 29 date was impacted by expected stormy weather, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating together under clearer skies.

🎨 Ornament Decorating

Kick off the evening with a festive activity for all ages!
Ornament Decorating will take place from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, just before the ceremony begins. Bring your family, unleash your holiday creativity, and enjoy a warm start to this cherished event.

🎤 Community Leaders to Speak

We are honored to welcome several of our community’s leaders who will offer brief remarks during the ceremony, including:

  • Local Mayors

  • Fire Department Heads

  • Ambulance Service Directors

Their words will help set a tone of unity, gratitude, and remembrance as we gather together.

🎶 Special Musical Performance

The evening will also feature a beautiful performance by the Haywood High School Choir, whose voices will bring holiday spirit and reflection to this meaningful gathering.

💙 Thank You to Our Title Sponsor

A heartfelt thank-you to BlueOval City Ford for proudly serving as our Title Sponsor and supporting this important community tradition.

🎄 A Celebration of Community and Remembrance

The Memorial Wreath Lighting is a time for connection, reflection, and celebration. Whether you join to honor loved ones, enjoy the music, or simply share in the warmth of the season, we hope you’ll be with us on December 19.

Stay tuned for more updates as the date approaches—we can’t wait to come together as a community.
